Recognition Program from KKNC

KKNC 2011 team is happy to announce with the selections of following candidates for the “KKNC Achiever Award” for their achievements made during the academic year 2010- 2011 which has made KKNC proud.

Gagan Kaushik

Parents: Sundar & Vasudha

Age: 11 yrs

School: Kennedy Middle

Area of Achievement: Geography Bee

Gagan participated in State level Geography Bee, which was held in Sacramento and was also one of the topper’s throughout California.

Milind Maiti

Parents: Smitha & Chandan Maiti

Age: 6 yrs

School: Collins Elementary, Cupertino

Area of Achievement: Chess

Milind Maiti stood 1st place twice in the "California State Chess championship" and was tied for 2nd place in the k-1 section of the "2011 USCF National Elementary Chess Championships" in Dallas, Texas. Milind finished higher than any other kindergartener ever and scored 6.5/7 in the tournament and received a third place trophy that stands taller than he does.

Aniketh Umesh

Parents: Umesh Ananthiah and Shubha Umesh

Age: 9 yrs

School: Dilworth Elementary School

Area of Achievement: Creative Arts

Aniketh Umesh, won first place among thousands of Kindergarten participants in “The Growing Up Asian in America contest” which is an initiative of the Asian Pacific Fund which rewarded him savings bond awards of $2,000, and is also honored at an awards ceremony at the Asian Art Museum. His exhibits displaying his winning art work goes on tour during Asian Pacific Heritage Month, and is hosted throughout the year by more than 50 public libraries all over the Bay area.

Anirudh Srinivas

Parents: Vidya Srinivas & Srinivas Murthy

Age: 14 yrs

School: Monta Vista High, Cupertino

Area of Achievement: Cricket

Anirudh has been playing serious cricket for the past five years.
He is developing to be a pace bowler and bowls right arm medium pace.
In the past six months, he has
a) Represented United States in the U-15 ICC Americas Cup tournament in Winnipeg, Canada. Has displayed some outstanding bowling and fielding skills that decided the outcome of one of games against Canada U-15. US U-15 successfully broke the monopoly of Canada and brought home the U-15 tournament.
b) Represented North West Region at the US National level, and was part of the successful National U-15 Championship NWR team
c) He also plays in adult leagues across the Bay Area, and was part of Spartan Team last winter in the T-20 games where he took a HATTRICK, playing against Stanford A team. He is the youngest player in the NCCA leagues to have accomplished this feat

Chinmay Gowdra

Parents: Satish Gowdra

Age: 8 yrs

School: Eisenhower Elementary school

Area of Achievement: Sports

Chinmay has won various awards & trophies in different sports like Chess, Tennis & Running at State and Regional level competition. Some of them are as below which displays his All-rounder Sports skills.
a) He won the 2rd place at State Grade level Chess Tournament held in Santa clara and won various Regional Chess tournaments.
b) Won the Regional ‘Little Mo’ Tennis tournament held in San Francisco and various zonal Tennis Tournaments held in Bay area.
c) Won First place in 10K Run at Sevathon organized by ICC.
d) Won First place in 5K run at Big bunny Race held in Cupertino.

Sumukh Sridhara

Parents: Sridhara GC & Suma Sridhara

Age: 17 yrs

School: Mission San Jose High School

Area of Achievement: Technology

Sumukh has worked with Fremont Unified School District to develop a mobile solution for the benefit of the school district community. He designed and developed the iPhone /iPad/iPod App. He was the key-note speaker on the App release event. Event was telecasted live on local channels. Event was highlighted in several local TV channels such as KTVU, KRON. He spoke on SPANISH channel. He was live on KGO channel. Recently interviewed by CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp). He was core team member of Happy Day Micro Funding, a non-profit organization focusing on high-school students. He is the director of MSJ TV club. He participated in National level Quiz-Bowl team held at Atlanta, GA (10th place). Besides working on serious several technical projects , Sumukh is a dedicated & popular volunteer for many non-profit organizations.

Arjun Bharadwaj

Arjun has been all rounder and winner of many prizes and volunteer in many non- profit organizations
• He has been the recipient of National Mathematics Award winner from the United States Achievement Academy. (USAA)
• Recipient of All-American Scholar winner
• School awards in Spanish, Biology, and Mathematics from school in freshman year .
• Has contributed in the development of Ipad and Iphone applications for a business enterprise during 11th grade.

Sankalp Gowda

Vivaswan R Shetty

Area of Achievement: Creative Arts & Sports

Vivaswan has 1. won all acting awards including "Star actor of the year 2011" in International Presentation of Performers at Hollywood. Over 4000 participants from all over the world competed in a week long competition.
2. Sports: Currently leads CA State in 200M Indoor.
Won 3rd place in 200M, 4th in Long Jump and 60M Dash Simplot Games@Idaho. Over 10000 Athletes from Canada, Mexico and all over USA participated,
Fastest Teen in USATF West Coast junior Olympics.
Captain of James logan High school with 5000 Kids /home of many reputed Olympians!
3. Founder of Soundology, recently gave concert to over 5000 folks.
4. Misc: Yakshagana, Drama, Folk art dancer/performances across USA
